I d on't think that is an international adoption if you are an American citizen. You need a traveling SW but most of the adoption will be done in the US and finalized in the US so it can be done as a straight domestic adoption. I know that there are states that allow children to be placed internationally. I can't recommend a particular SW but I know that I have seen ads for social worker who travel to where you are and do homestudies for folk in exactly your situation. Email and I will give you some references for local attorneys that might have references for getting a homestudy and determining which states allow of of the country placements.

Hi-
I am in your same situation. I am living in Singapore and adopting in the US. I will PM you what I have found out so far. Its a bit difficult finding agencies that will work with overseas families, but I have found some helpful attorneys--
Good luck

Thanks for the information

Thanks for the information, this is very helpful to me.
I talked to the adoption information service in nj nand the lady said that it probably would be an international adoption, but she will send me some information material.
I will also tryb to contact these lawyers and get some more information.
Thanks again ladies abd good luck on your journey....
Nicole
