Tax Credit
Can anyone tell me how the adoption tax credit works? I have tried to read up on it but am still confused. Would appreciate any help you can offer.

I don't post often, but hopefully this website will help you. I was on another website and someone suggested this to get a better understanding of the tax credit.

I do not know all of the details but I can tell you that it is a wonderful thing! We got back 11,000 somthing - I think for our sucessful adoption in '03 (they have raised the tax credit from 10,000) and we also had a failed adoption in '02. And we got a credit for that as well! We went back and ammended our tax return from the previous year and they gave us full credit PLUS $400 in interest!
