I am in the middle of an adoption from Ethiopia. American for African Adoptions is close to our home state and when we spoke to Cheryl Carter-Shotts we were very impressed by her experiences. However, we had a specific child in mind and we found the response time of AFAA to be much slower than we were pleased with. Ultimately, we have been very pleased with our decision to work with Adoption Advocates International out of Washington state.
Best of luck with whomever you chose.

My experience with Americans for African Adoptions

If you would like some input, feel free to send a private message. I'm currently working with Dove Adoptions International. If anyone has information to share, please respond. Thanks.

I too am interstested in this Agency...can anyone tell me more?
I also would LOVE a great answer to "What is the difference in adopting domestic or international? My husband and I are currently stationed in Okinawa/USAF.
