Anyone else adopting from Kenya?
Hello,
I am a Canadian living in Kenya. We are in the process of adopting our 6 month old daughter, and are looking for other families who might also be adopting (or have adopted) from Kenya. If you are, or have, I would love to hear about your journey! Many blessings to you all...

Can US citizens adopt from Kenya? I have read alot about Kenya and also am very interested? Anyone have any info, good or bad, thanks, Elizabeth

Kenya has very long residency requirements that make it difficult for some - they require a 3 month in-county bonding period, and then you must also remain in country through the court process which follows- which is another 3 month minimum.

Mom to bio dd - age 16 -  Mom to adopted ds - age 10 - Waiting to adopt #3 from South Africa December 2005 - Began Homestudy May 2006 - Homestudy approved -  June 2006 - Profile in South Africa July 2006 - waiting for a referral!!!!!! Nov 2006 - Referral - it's a boy!!!!  Dec 27th - leave for SA! the countdown begins.... January 22nd - Home in Canada with new baby boy.
