Do you have questions?
If so, I'd love to hear them! I have just started blogging on adoption from Africa and would love to "talk" about the things you are wondering about! Let me know those burning questions!

Hi, I am very interested in adopting from Africa. I have no idea where to start, how much it costs or what it entails. Any information you can give me would be great. I don't really care what part of Africa either, I just feel like I have a child there. My heart is in Uganda and Darfur, but I'm open to all of the locations.
Thanks, Leah |

Hi Leah,
Just wondering how your search is going and if you've narrowed it down at all? Good luck!

Can anyone explain to me the Visa proces once we pick up our child? WE are adopting from Rwanda and must go to Kenya to obtain the visa. I do not know what to do ahead of time if anything. We do have our I-600A approval letter. Do we just show up at the embassy and get further instructions or do we need to do anything prior to travel?

I adopted from Ethiopia last year. When I went to the embassy in Ethiopia I had to take my I600 (not the I600a or the I171h). I also took a copy of my entire dossier but I didn't need it. I also took a copy of my taxes for the last 3 years. I didn't need it but I was suppose to need. At the embasy I got a large package and then said that was what I needed when I entered the US. They did not tell me NOT to open it and I almost did. It is only to be opened by the customs person at entry to the US. I have no idea if it is the same for other countries.
