Rwanda Adoptions
Hi! We are currently in the process of adopting from Rwanda. I was just checking to see if there was anyone else out there who had done the same. We are hoping to be back before school starts in the fall.
Can't wait to chat! |

HI, we just completed an adoption in November and dh is not ready to start again. (says we are done, but I will work on him) We had some missionaries from Rwanda visiting our church yesterday. She is actually Rwandan, and their children were so beautiful! I was wondering about the process for adopting from there, but got no chance to ask them, so I came on here to see if anyone had any experience. We would probably be interested in a child with a physical handicap or deformity. I would love to hear more about the process and your experience.

The foundation of adoption from Rwanda are the rules they go by.
1. You must be at least 35 2. You must be married at least 5 years 3. You can only have 2 children already in the home 4. You can not have any divorces in your past That's it. I have heard they are very strict on these rules. Some exceptions can be made, but not to #4. If you meet all of these and still want information I'd be happy to chat! Good Luck! |

Rwanda adoption
I just got word that our Rwandan adoption should be complete and legal tomorrow! We expect to be able to go pick him up in about 3 weeks! I have 3 children at home and I was approved so I wouldn't let the # of children in your home stop you from trying to adopt from Rwanda. It has actually been a fairly easy process compared to other countries I have heard about. If still interested I can get you more detailed info. God Bless..

Hi Missy...I was wondering if you were told it is necessary to obtain a visa for yourself for your stay in Kenya. I was told I could just get one at the airport but I wondered what your friends did that were just there. I'd rather just get it at the airport if that is still acceptable in Kenya. I don't want to wait any longer to have to send my passport and wait for it to return with the visa. I was told that we can come get JP now so maybe we'll end up on the same plane...I think I will be leaving next week too!!! God Bless...Tina

Yes, just get one at the airport. We are going to do the same thing in Addis during our layover (8hrs with an 8 month old!) just to get out and see some of Ethiopia. We leave this Thursday and will arrive in Rwanda on Sat. We leave for Nairobi on the 30th and hope to be home by the 15th of Oct. His passport paperwork has already been turned in and the clock is ticking down the 10 days!
We are staying at the Heart House in Nairobi. It is a wonderful place owned by a chirstian woman. Our friends stayed there and highly recommend it. Hope we run into you! If not, then I hope to see pictures of your new sweetie! |
