Letter to Government
Hi everyone, we're filling out our application to adopt from Liberia, and we have to write a letter to the government of Liberia stating why we want to adopt from them. Has anyone written this? We're just not sure how to write it - should it be a "request" format, or just why we would love to adopt a child from there? Our agency said there's no real format neede, so I thought I'd see if any of you have written it, and how you wrote it. Thanks!

Hi Melissa. I have written a letter like that myself and have overseen other's letters. Some advice. Keep the letter simple and formal. Please do not use slang or relaxed "American" terms but rather recognize this letter will be read by one of Liberia's top political figures.
