I would say that if you aren't already in process in Sierra Leone, now is not a good time to get started. I truly believe that things will be better soon. But, right now there is an ongoing Interpol investigation. There are no claims of current issues, all of the cases involved date back to during the Civil War. But, there is enough uncertainty right now, that I couldn't start adopting from Sierra Leone today.

Of course, those of us in process are in a different situation. We sit, wait and pray for this to settle down. More importantly, we have to be careful what we read because few of the media outlets are reporting accurately, especially those published in Sierra Leone.

Welcome to the reality of what the rest of the world thinks about adoption.
