update

Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback in Feb re: my PADS posting. I just wanted to give an update. I've now fallen head over heels for my daughter. I love spending time w/ her and seeing her face in the morning. With my son it's been much more difficult. He has some medical issues that we have yet to pinpoint and that were not disclosed to us at the time of his adoption...this makes him cranky about 3/4 of the time. My bonding with him is far from complete. But- I'm hoping if we can resolve his medical issues, he can start feeling better he'll be less cranky and we can speed up bonding.

I'm so glad to hear you have cleared at least one hurdle. Having a kid that is needy from a medical perspective can be tough - even when biological. So, continue giving yourself time!

It's always nice to identify the hurdle that triggers your lack of bonding...it somehow brings hope, and an identifiable problem that can be worked towards....and you'll find as you fight for your son's health, he'll become more precious to you....

Good to hear things are looking up!
