dd, 20months, just started with the "why?" It usually goes like this:

dd- "out! Out!!"

me - "you must say out please"

dd- " out please. (pause) why?"

me- "because it's polite to say please."

dd- "why?"

me-"Oh look, it's a cat!"

HEHEHEHEHEHEHE

I have said .....

quit playing in duck stinky..

dd: but it makes the best mud pies

Get out of the bunny stinky

dd: but it makes the best mud pies

turn the hose OFF, no playing with the hose (it's 40 degrees outside)

dd: but I'm making mud pies

(one hour later dd comes in soaking wet)

I thought I told you to quit playing in the water

dd: you said hose, so I used the dog water instead (confused cause she DID mind me)

Quit making the dog tackle you!

dd: but we're wrestling (dog is 8 mo old---puppy poucy and excited--- and 50 lbs and tall as she is)

Don't share pecans with the dog

dd: but she likes them

then take turns, one is only yours and the other is ONLY hers

Bunnies do NOT like to dannce
Bunnies do NOT like to wrestle
Bunnies do NOT like to ride in dump trucks
Bunnies do NOT like to swim with the ducks
Bunnies do NOT like to play with the dog
Bunnies do NOT like pecans!

dd: yes they do SEE??

Well what-dya know, they sure DO like pecans!

Thanks..isn't this fun?

"Arianna, honey, puh ~lease do not eat that ____ (M&M, chip, popcorn, whatever food particle) of the floor at Target...the floor is dirty. Very dirty.' Cashier is of course, snickering! I simply smile.

'Alex, please, keep your feet off the table when we are eating...and do NOT play with your toes either.'

'Honey, you do not need to dunk the toilet paper in the toilet after going potty.' ugh!!!

'No, Alex, your cars do not go in the potty.'

"Boys don't use toilet paper after peeing."

"You cannot flush that much TP!"

"GUESS WHO pooped on the pottY?" (public place, cell phone).

"DO NOT EVER lick the toilet again!" (this was dh, in a PUBLIC restroom.) And OH YES, he DID! The looks he got ...And of course, you never get the time to tell people that this child had a history before you ...

This is hilarious!!!

I also told DH's 5 year old niece "Don't feed the dog with your fork"

My 2 1/2 yr old niece again. That is the dog's Kong toy, we don't try to put it on Onyx's tail. She doesn't like you holding her tail and following her everywhere.

I thought I would include a picture to go with my "underwear doesn't belong on your head" post. This is my oldest when he was around 2-3 years old.

"please don't lick your sister" - that is too funny. We had a similar experience. The second week our DD was home I mentioned to our pediatrician that our DD smelled kinda strange, and he said that sometimes a strange smell was an indication of an enzyme defiency and did I know if she tasted sour? To which I replied "well, I haven't licked her but my son has shall we ask him?" For some reason my 3 year old DS was licking his sister at bathtime the night before...my doc was completely unphased, he must have heard it all by now.

Just last night in the middle of a "talk" with dd and DH my DH says "Don't you *HOP* away from me when I'm speaking to you!!" Because if he'd said walk away, she 'd ignore us and when getting in trouble for ignoreing us, she'd say "I was *hopping* away, not walking away".
