Well, hello. My name is Tom,and I think this is agreat idea. Thanks to the moderators. We are looking for another child via adoption,but this time we probably have to go thru more conventional means that we did in receiving our first child, Brendan, who is a true gift from God and who is our blessed joy. Anyway, does anyone have experience with 800 numbers placed in small town newspapers as a means of finding a child? thanks

hello and thanks for posting...yes, we used an 800 number and advertised in a small town newspaper ...it was one of those throw away newspapers...I think it was called the Thrifty Nickel or something like that...the ad cost about $7, but resulted in the addition of our third child to our family. The thing about networking is that the more you put the word out that you are trying to adopt, the more contacts you get and the more chances of finding your baby. I think the absolute best way of networking is to go to Parent Profiles and put all the information up there about your family...this site has tons of expectant parents looking for homes for their unborn children. Also, if you get the premium site, make sure to use their networking option, which allows you to send a card to all your friends asking for their help in locating a birthmom. Networking
