Single parent adoption help

Hi I'm Jessi and a single woman, I have always wanted to adopt. Sadly I'm not sure how to get started, nor have an idea of how much trouble I'm going to have trying to do so being single. Is there anyone out there that might have any advice on how I can go about trying to bring that special little girl or boy into my life?
Please let me know so that I know somethings I will have to look out for.
Thank you so much
Jessi

Congratulations on the first step! You have many options available to you as a single woman. I would start by contacting local adoption agencies. They usually have great information sessions that you can attend to get more info. Good luck to you!

Welcome to the world of adoption. You have many options and it can be overwhelming to start. I agree with Scatter...talk to local agencies about your options. That first step really helped me in my process. After talking to my local agency I realized that I had some decisions to make. What age child? What gender? Domestic or international? foster care? Waiting child? So many options. Understanding the relality of each of those options will help you to make your decisions. When I examined those questions it led me to international adoption. When others do it they are led down a different path. And continue to ask questions here. It is not an easy process but it is soooooo worth it.
