I hope this is the right place to post this question. In my state, Missouri, you can receive a subsidy for daycare expenses. Does anyone know if there are any requirements the daycare provider must meet? Does it have to be an accredited establishment or can it be used for an in-home care situation? Thanks to anyone who can enlighten me.

We are in AR...our cw said that it either has to be a licensed daycare that has already had to meet screening, OR if we knew an individual that was willing to have criminal background checks done and meet the home requirements (fire extinguisher, escape route, locked meds, guns, etc) then they would work.
They also had to be willing to accept the state vouchers, whether they were a licensed daycare or a private individual.
Ask your cw that you are working with for specifics for your area.
How far along are you? DH and I are waiting for our criminal background checks to clear so we can start classes. Keep everyone updated!

Thanks for the info...it's very helpful. I've completed my homestudy and was originally thinking of a school aged child, but there's a younger one that has caught my eye. Hadn't looked into the specifics of all-day daycare, and of course can't wait until Monday to call my worker.
