Does anyone know which 5 other states
use means testing to determine adoption subsidies? I was reading on one of the Misouri Sites that law makers sited 5 other states that use means testing...I was just wondering what states they were and how low the % above poverty level is for those states

I think I found the info I was looking for, which
pretty much sums up that Missouri and do what they are doing to non-title IV-E adoptions....
The info I got was from the National Adoption Information Clearinghouse... 84% of foster care adoptions nation wide are qualified for title IV-E federal funding....$444 is the national average for per month subsidy States can do pretty much anything they want to with state only children... the states that use means testing to some degree are 1. Ohio, starting last year families with income exceeding 120% of poverty level were not eligible for state only subsidies 2. Kansas 3. New Hampshire 4. New York and 5. Washington look at the financial status of families in determining adoption sub amount 6. South Dakota parents must prove a need above their resources |
