Question SSI AND subsidy?

I have a foster son, who is already receiving SSI. I know our board payment is currently being paid out of that. We just got a couple more diagnosis, with more testing planned through October.
Is it possible for a child to receive SSI AND adoption subsidies? I didn't think it was until I read this thread. Does anyone have that now?
TPR is currently scheduled in November, and we will adopt him. I want to know what to ask/ push for BEFORE the time comes!

Yes, you can receive both, but this is how it works. The child will receive SSI (for his disability) based on your income. If your income is too high, then he won't qualify.

When it comes time to negotiate his adoption subsidy, your subsidy will be reduced by the amount of his SSI payment. If your income goes up, his SSI goes down. Then you need to go back and renegotiate your subsidy.

If his SSI is for survivors benefits, it's not going to be based on your income, it goes by his late parent's.

I was told to not take my kids' SSI payments, to just go for straight adoption subsidy. I did and it's worked out better. I only have one check per month to try to track down every month
