A fathers cry to his Father in heaven

I am absolutly no poet but this is something that I wrote a few months ago in regaurds to the 11 year old Russian orphan that we are adopting...

"A Fathers Cry"

Lord, my Father in heaven. Why must I cry?

How can someone leave one of Your children to fend on their own? Why must he cry out with no one to comfort, no one to hold, no one to say “Jesus loves you and so do I”? Lord, why must I cry?

I will cry Lord, I will cry for him. He was born as Your Child was born, in a home not His own. As Your Child was brought to this earth in a building fit for animals, he lives in a building…in a place fit for animals. He and a hundred and a half others, they wait. Not for me to come, not for others to come…. But for You to come. Lord I cry!

Let me be Your light, let me shine to this child as you have shone to me. Let Your light shine Lord. In the fleeting moment we had together, I saw You shine through Him. May others see You and Your goodness through the darkness that up until this point is his life. Lord, do you hear me cry?

I do not deserve Your loving kindness, yet, You have adopted me. I deserved no good…yet you showed me Your love. Let me show this mercy to another, to this child. Lord, I hear Your cry.

How can I not reach out? How can I not cry for the one that you have laid on my heart? This child….Your child…my child. I hear his cry Lord. I hear your call. Please give me the strength that I know only You can give. I cry out to You Lord!

Can he hear me cry? Does he know from the other side of this world that I am crying now for him? Lord, you know I cry. Show this child…Your child…My child, show him my love, Your love. May he soon feel Your touch through mine, as I feel You now. I cry out, I cry out to you…My Father in heaven.

My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name! For it is You who choose me, not I You. If it be Your will, bring him home to me. That I may hug him, hold him, comfort him and scold him. Lord, I cry for him as You have cried for me.

In Jesus name I pray,

Your adopted child
