I know why crowds
make me nervous.
I know why I can’t
keep eye contact.
I know why my neighbors
are just people next-door.
I know why I’m
guarded and solitary.
I know why reunions
make me cringe.
I know why friends are kept
at arms’ length.
I know why “family”
rings hollow.
I know why I’m never satisfied.
What I don’t know is
why?

So you were adopted, do you know your birth mother or father. Have you searched? What does your aparents think of this.

Don't have any information on either birth parent, although my amom says she has a paper somewhere with my birthmother's signature on it. I've recently started a more intensive search because of a health problem I'm having that could be genetic. My aparents have never seen my poetry or short stories. They aren't very artistic and don't understand what catching a moment in time would mean. I'm the only one in the family who has any artistic abilities; writing, music, painting, etc. and I wasn't supported to pursue those abilities. They considered them hobbies and preferred me to pursue a more "common sense" job that I would work at for 30 years and then retire...lol. Being artsy in a family of "blue collars" was always a struggle, but I sense that their intentions were good and pure of heart because of their love for me.
