A Piece of You



A piece of your heart, a piece of your soul, a piece of your body that you may never know. Out in the world so scared and alone, a tiny baby girl taken away from your warmth for someone else to hold.

Now, a grown woman in the world with a family of my own. But something was missing. What could be wrong? I looked in every corner, I looked under every stone. I looked into my heart, how could I have not known?

It was you that I was missing, you that had left this hole. How could so much emptiness come from someone I had never known? I had to find the answers to the questions in my soul.

So I set out on a journey, with mountains and valleys like I had never seen. Somewhere you were out there, surely, not only in my dreams. Suddenly, there you were, waiting with open arms and shelter from this storm.

Now the pieces fit together like they were never apart. A piece of your body, a piece of your soul, and a piece of your heart. Flesh of your flesh and bone of your bone. I am home, sweet mommy. I have finally come home.
