Heart Thoughts to my 'little pixie'.

I am only 23 weeks along, but I have already chosen my baby girl's Mommy and Daddy through an open adoption. I am writting a journal that I will be sending with my little pixie...

It was so hard to admit that I wouldn't be able to give you all that you needed, and that I wouldn't be able to be your mommy, but when I found your mom I felt at peace. When I felt that peace I KNEW I was doing the right thing. Some people don't understand. They think I'm just giving you up. No little one. I'm giving you more! I want you to have the same opportunities and more that I had growing up that I'm sure you'll have with a mom AND a dad! I'm at work with nothing to do. I think about you all the time little one. Everyday I pray that you'll understand why I made this decision for you, and that you'll always know how much I love you. If I could I would give you the sun, the moon, and the world!

So sweet. Your post is beautiful! It sounds a lot like the journal my son received from his birthmother when he was born. It is a treasure. He is too young to read it yet (almost 3 years old), but I love to read it on occasion. And I love that it answers the deep questions in such a loving and personal way, and that her love is easy to feel as we read.

One thought - Keep a copy for yourself. When my son was a year old, his bmom wrote and asked for us to make a copy for her, and said it really helps during the tough times.
