A little girl Dreams of her Daddy,
Where is he today?

She wants to hug him, hold his hand,
and take him out to play.

She walks alone with someone else
who says they love her too.

She knows she's loved, she has been told,
but they don't have a clue.

She tells them that she's happy there,
she couldn't want for more.

But she dreamt of the Daddy that gave her up,
walking up to her door.

He'd take her hand and pick her up,
and take her home to stay.

He'd tell her that he loved her,
and he'd hug her every day.

What thoughts go through her little head?
She thinks of him and prays.

Dear God please mend my broken heart,
and help me through the days.

And keep him happy and keep him safe,
so we can meet again.

And help me find him when I'm big,
then our life can begin.

My heart is breaking God, you see,
since we have been apart.

Please give my Daddy back to me,
only he can mend my heart.
