Hi, I am Jody Moreen, an adult adoptee and facilitator of Adoptees, Birth Parents & Adoptive Parents Together, a peer-support group in Naperville IL. I have facilitated adoption triad groups for 14 yrs in IN and IL. I have a passion to mentor adoptees and birth parents, especially those from the closed adoption era. I was assistant editor of Jewel Among Jewels Adoption News with Sherrie Eldridge, adoption author. I also was editor of Adoption Blessings Journal- 20 pg outreach magazine ( 9 issues).I have published some newspaper and magazine articles on adoption. I have volunteered hosting adoption online groups and mentored many persons touched by adoption for the past 15 years. I have done some adoption speaking and hosted adoptee panels for adoptive parents groups. Have a BA in Psychology and a certificate in Humans Services ( emphasis Adoption and Crisis Pregnancy ) I completed a 180 hour internship with Bethany Christian Services, Indianapolis adoption agency in the late 90's. One of my greatest assets is networking in the adoption community and mentoring adult adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents of older/adult adoptees on their adoption journey. I would love to work in an adoption agency mentoring persons, providing adoption education and support groups. I collect adoption books and own a large library of adoption books and also have donated over 250 adoption books to a Dupage County adoption agency.
