Home Studys How long are they good
Kim:
We have adopted twice and have had exceptable home studys. How long is a home study good for? What about getting them updated by someone different than the person who did the original home study is this possible? Do they have to be updated? Thanks Steve & Nancy |

This may vary by state, but our homestudy is good for up to a year unless we move or add or subtract kids in which case it has to be updated including references and criminal checks. Our updates can be done by different agencies but they have to have the original homestudy paperwork. The update was fairly simple and wasn't too expensive.(The state would update for free, but we were in a hurry the last time).
