My husband and I have always known that adoption is part of our future. We have three children of our own, awesome extended families (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.), an enormous amount of love to give and a great home that is almost done being renavated. I am a stay at home mom and my husband's job is completely stable. We don't however have a LOT of money and do have some bills that pay on. We provide our children with a clean and safe environment, have excellent health care and all the other essentials.
My question and main concern is when is the best time to begin the adoption process? Is it best to have all your bills completely paid off? More than 5 years of employment with the same company? A certain amount of money in the bank? I don't want to make the mistake of starting the process prematurely only to be declined and then have that 'mark' against us if we updated our financial position and tried again in the future. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million.
