National Adoption Month '03

My husband and I were planning on sending letters to our family and friends announcing our decision to adopt and wanted to inlcude ribbons in honor of National Adoption Month. My problem is I cannot find an awareness ribbon or color that represents adoption. I can find one for almost anything else, but not adoption. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?

Thanks,
Jessica

I have heard that it is a white ribbon with a red heart in the middle!

Good Luck!

Smile National Adoption Awareness Month

I'm happily celebrating National Adoption Awareness Month. I was one of the first single, African American women to adopt in my state (Tennessee). My first daughter, Sarah, (a biracial child) was placed November 18, 1974 (at 4 months of age). My second daughter, Rachel, was placed February 12, 1983 (at 2 months of age). Sarah is now 29 and a special-education teacher working on her second master's degree. Rachel is almost 21 and a third-year college student. Both are very hard-working, strong-willed, independent women and I'm extremely proud of them. I have remained single and enjoy it very much. (I've been through some rough times through the years...but there's nothing I can't do!!) My hat is off to all adoptive parents....single or not.
