Quick adoption credit qs
If you work out the qualified adoption expenses form - 8839 and it works out that you should get the max amount...do u actually get that on top of your other tax back amount? or, is that amount inserted into the 1040 and then you end up getting less in the end? (Not sure I explained that right)

You get it in addition to your regular refund. Example our normal refund would have been 3000. We had 3500 in adoption expenses from our baby. Total refund is 6500.
Good luck!
