Tax Rebate and ATIN Question

Hi, we are just finishing up our taxes on turbotax and have a question about the economic stimulus rebate. We've adopted a baby in 2007 and have received the ATIN for tax purposes but do not have a social security number for her as the adoption isn't finalized yet. We should be able to finalize either in May or August.

According to Turbotax it looks like though we'll get $1200 for filing married jointly, but won't get $300 for our daughter because we have a ATIN for her, and not a social security number. I feel like I'm getting shafted out of $300 because we don't have a social security number for her. Is there any way of getting arround this or are we just out of luck?

Q. I adopted a child this year and my child has an ATIN (Adoption Taxpayer Identification Number). Will I receive the $300 additional child payment?
A. An ATIN is issued by the IRS as a temporary taxpayer identification number for the child. Adoptive parents who do not yet have a Social Security Number for their child will not get the advance payment. However, if they receive a Social Security Number for the child before the end of 2008, they can claim the additional child payment on their 2008 tax return.

Found my answer. Thanks!
