Which Tax Program for year 2004??

We all know Turbo Tax was a BUST for the tax year 2003 with the adoption credit.

I've got all of my W2's and I am ready to get to work. Which program can I use successfully? Anyone already done??

We used Tax Act last year. Just use the name...plus dot com...and you can download off internet. We used the very basic version.

Our situation actually involved using half of the tax credit for 2003...and we'll use the other half for 2004...due to a failed placement and one in the process.

It was very user-friendly.

Hope this helps.

I just used Turbo tax online last night and had no problems. There was info available about the adoption credit.
Filed electronically, in about 30 minutes. Just found out the federal was accepted and the refund should be in our account in less then 2 weeks.

The state always takes a little longer.

Leaabc123~I also use turbo tax. Did you notice on the State part about the $5000.00 adoption credit. We were able to use the credit on our Federal but am not sure if we qualify for the other $5000.00. Do you know anything about it?

hi there,
nope we don't know, sorry. I just noticed that they asked the questions about adoption and fooled around with it a bit.
We won't need to really pay attention until next year (hopefully).

I would imagine that turbo tax would be able to determine if you are elgible for both?

We went ahead and used Turbo Tax. In the question about Prior 8839's it said "enter the total from lines 3 and 6 from you last 8339" Well, we did, and it's $10160. TT kicked it back and said it could not be more than $10000. So we REDID our 8839 for 2003 thinking we may have done it incorrectly-NOPE. TT won't take that number. DH said what they REALLY want is the amount *used* in 2003 so it can figured your credit carry over.

If that is what they meant, why not ask that?? Can I scram now?

Can I scream now?
