MEMBER IN THE SPOTLIGHT

MissngLinkInFL, birth mother

MissngLinkInFL (aka Deb) is a birth mother who was adopted by her step father.

Deb became an active member of the forums in January 2004. She had a successful reunion with her biological father in 2000. In 2004, she located her birth daughter and sent a letter, but to date, has not received a response.

Deb is a widowed mother to 3 other children, aged 27, 28, and 30; she is also a grandmother to 6. Deb lives near St. Augustine, Florida with a dog, 4 cats, and a resident racoon.

Deb is semi-retired from social work. In 2003, she pursued an interest in writing. She completed a journal for her birth daughter as a view of her genetic heritage and the decision to relinquish, as well as who she was
both then and now. Deb is still hoping for contact but has a great sense of peace knowing that her daughter's life is all she had hoped it would be.
