2nd shift child care

I normally work 2nd shift three days a week. I might be able to get it down to two days a week (my schedule is somewhat flexible), but there is virtually no chance that I would be able work 1st shift all week. I plan to adopt a school-age child, so I would mainly just need childcare for the days I work 2nd shift.

Does anyone know if this will be an issue when I start my home study? I plan to hire a private babysitter/nanny to come to my home, but I cannot really start looking until I know what type of child I am getting and approximately when. I will be able to take 12 weeks off with pay upon placement, so that would give me some time to find a caregiver, but I am wondering how soon they would expect me to have something lined up.

In my state (PA) you can use private childcare (nanny, at home day care, etc); however, that person has to have all necessary clearances prior to being able to care for the child.

Good luck!
