Books for parents on adopting a child out of foster care?

Hello,

I'm looking for resources for an friend who works in the therapeutic foster care system. She's trying to find books for a parent who is preparing to adopt an 8 year old out of foster care. Any resources that you can share? I found another thread on here with good books for kids ... any good ones for parents?

Thanks!!

Michelle

I came across a reading list for special needs adoptions this morning. Click here and scroll down towards the bottom of the page.

In addition, I personally recommend Families at Risk by Jodee Kulp, about false allegations, the consequences, and how to cope with them.

You may want to post this over on the special needs forum...they'd be able to provide you a LONG list of necessary reading. My advice, Love and Logic, and anything to do with Attachment parenting. I adopted my son at age 11 from foster care. In addition to books, I suggest they come visit this site!
