My husband and i have literally just started talking about adoption to add to our family of four and I have considered adopting a child not an infant.
My question? At what age is a foster child considered "older" in the system?? Marie |

If you mean older based on a subsidy, it varies from state to state. I am in Maryland, and I believe they consider a child over 6 and older child.

Lorraine -
At this point I'm not sure about subsidies (sp). It just seems that when I went online to the different state foster care & adoption sites they all seem to have different rules & regs regarding what is considered and older child? We would love to adopt a younger little girl between the ages of 2-5. Also, and we have just begun discussing this, we are also thinking about adopting siblings if they are younger than 10. So many questions , but I expected as much!tiniree |
