Wow! A possible match!
I've been doing much reading on these boards, but very little posting, as our time was not yet here.. BUT..Now we find ourselves rushing to finish up certification, because our agency has called us with a possible match! I must admit that after doing so much reading, I was expecting a bit of a wait, and this has come as a surprise, but a very nice one. My question is what should I be looking for, asking about. We have a phone "interview" with the county social worker THIS MORNING (I wasn't prepared), and I'm stressing that I will forget to ask something important. I had asked my agency worker lots of questions about why he was moved from one placement to another and why the current placement didn't adopt him, asked about school and will request to meet with his teachers (with current foster mom)...I feel like I'm forgetting something, and it worries me a bit because everyone I'm talking to says that this kid is just really great and has very few issues! Any advice on asking more questions? I know his history and why he was placed into care, but is there more I should press for?
Here's hoping for the best! |
