Question Am I alone?

I was just wondering if anyone else here is trying to locate there b parents, but it was a private adoption and they have no names. That is the case with me and I have tried to call many different places and tried different websites and nobody is responding. I'm getting upset and emotional. I just want to find them so badly! I feel alone, I read other posts and a lot of you know names and stuff. I don't know really anything.

Never alone

Hey sweetie,

I can't really relate to the private adoption, but I can relate to not finding anything out and wanting to so bad. I was also adopted and next month is my 25 birthday. My mother definitly is not looking for me. So, my point is keep your chin up and know that we all are going through this together. I hope you find what you are looking for. But, try to know that without all this you are a great person, that finding would be the icing on the cake. Does that make sense?

Anyway, take it easy and try not to let your feelings be brought down because of this. I know it is hard, but some things are the way they are.

Joan

Wink You're not alone

No, you're not alone. I was once (almost 4 yrs. ago) where you are now. First of all, what state are you searching in? Second ,you must know your DOB (date of birth), the name of the hospital you were born in, the town in which you were born, the state in which you were born, and assuming you know all of the above you would then easily be able to find the county in which you were born. Therein lie your birth records. Once you figure out the county you were born in you can write the court house there and ask, as an adopted person, for your non-identifying information. That will give you (maybe) your mother's age at your birth, her education level at the time of your birth, possibly her hair color, etc. and maybe some info. re: your birth father. After having that info you can often forge a trail from there. If you have questions I am in chat from time to time or you can e-mail me at sti4819@blackfoot.net
Good luck to you. I found my b-mom - she wants NOTHING to do with me. I doubt I'll ever be "ok" with that, but realize she has some serious issues in her life. When I get down I think of Garth Brooks song "Sometimes God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers".

I relinquished my son through private adoption, when he came of age I called the attorney that handled the adoption, it took very little time after that. Do you know what attorney handled the adoption? If so contact him/her and ask for help.

Hi there!

I have some info that my a~parents had, I guess that is the non~identifying info you all were talking about. It is the age, eye color, hair color, education, Things like that. I have the attorney's name but I can't locate him anywhere. I have looked and looked. His name is Albert Williams. I think he may be ritired or something. I don't know where else to turn!

I'm not sure what state you are in, but if you call the state's bar association they may be able to help you locate him and I also believe that the records from his office cannopt be destoryed, I hope this helps.

It should be listed with the phone company (411), Florida State Bar Association, but you can also try looking in the front of your phone book under state agencies (Government pages) or try your online phone book, if that fails, call any attorneys office and ask them for the number.

When I was searching, I went to the Dept. of Health at my state capitol, which is also the state I was born. They gave me a copy of my original birth certificate, with my birthmother's name blacked out. I had complete info on the doctor and hospital, which was the info we ended up needing for a complete match.
