Hello, my name is Debra and my mother's name is Myrtle. We are searching for Myrtle's birth relatives. Myrtle will be 71 years old this year (2003) and has been actively searching since 1998. Born MYRTLE HELEN ENGSTROM in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on September 25, 1932. The non-identifying information on the birth mother states that she was unwed, worked as a domestic and was of the Protestant faith. Search of the birth records states that the birth mothers name was ELSIE ENGSTROM.
"Engstrom" could be her mother's maiden surname. Her given name could be "Elsie","Elsa", "Elisa", "Elisabet" or "Elizabeth". There is no information on the birth father. I lost a daughter to a congenital heart defect in 1976 after her second open heart surgery. My remaining children are of child bearing years, and we have no history of family health issues. Needless to say, Myrtle is desperate to find the missing information of her past. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. Thank you. ![]() Last edited by Ladyrides : 04-15-2003 at 10:40 AM. |

I have a great great aunt who was adopted out ......her mothers maiden name was engstrom, I think, I will have to do some research, your mom would be the right age.........and all of my fathers family came from canada.
I accidentally came across this recently..........his family, mostly have dark hair and light eyes, although there were 14 kids in this family, I have a picture of the baby some where. lisaandamie@cs.com |

We found Myrtle's birth mother, her name was Elsie Evelyn Engstrom. She passed away in 1994, however we have connected with half siblings. We are driving mom (Myrt) to Calgary for a family re-union on June 15, 2003. We are overwhelmed by the openness, acceptance and excitement they have at meeting their oldest sister, that they never ever knew about. Absolutely positive experience for all of us. I'll try to remember to keep everyone here posted as to how goes it for us.
God Bless you all on your searches, I never thought I'd ever get the opportunity to post a REUNION message. Sincerely, Debra Ward |
