Something that has always bothered me about my adoption was the fact that I have no pictures of me before the age 8 months. I was with a foster family and my mom said she asked for pics but agency would not give her any, they were not allowed to apparently. Don't know if this means, there were some taken and foster family wasn't allowed to share or they just didn't take any or were told not to. Makes me sad that no one thought it would be important. Very annoying how these agencies just want to erase any part of your life before you were adopted. My adoption was in the early 70's so I know that's how it was back then. Wondering if anyone else had this experience.

I would also like to find my foster family, not just to see if they have pics, but to meet them and thank them for taking care of me.

You might be able to get some info from the county you were in foster care in. It might be a long-shot but you never know.

I was in agency FC until a little over 5 months old. There is not one photo of me as a newborn-- up until my ap's got me. We just didnt exist before adoption

I was in foster care until age 9 months, I too have no pictures of me until that point.

I am so frustrated over so many things that my agency did to my life and yes, so much is erased.

I think that is a really great idea to want to find your foster family never thought of that.

There are no pic's of me before about 9 mths, which is the time I was put in the orphange. Even though b grandfather was a photographer.

He took pic's of me after I was put in the orphange, upto the age of 6.
bmother didn't take pics or seem to keep baby pic's.

Wonder if the lack of baby pic's is due to the shame of being from an unwed mother. She was sent to be with other unwed pregnant women.

My daughter is only 3.5 She came to us at 12 months old.

I recently paid her birth grandmother for 7 rolls of undeveloped film they had ... on one film there were 8 pictures of my daughter at 8 months old. As far as I know those are the only pictures that exist of her before she came to us. Our other daughter, her full sister, came at 2 months old and as far as I can tell (and have been told) NOONE took any pictures of her.

It is hard ... very hard. I am sorry.
