Question Help!!!

Hello, I’ve been searching for awhile now. If you could please let me know how you were able to retrieve your non-identifying information it would be greatly appreciated. I found out by a slip of the tongue that I was adopted and by A-mom refuses to discuss anything about my adoption. She was never going to tell us. I am registered with the adopting registry but that's about it. I tried to get a copy of my original birth certificated, however, since my adoption was closed, I was denied. Any advice that you can give me would be great.

I requested mine from the state (IN), and it was very basic, but stil had things I didn't know, like time of birth, weight etc...

Next, I requested my non-id from the agency I was adopted from. That was much, much more information. Several pages, and full of great information.

If your Mom won't discuss your adoption, it may be tougher to find the agency, but not impossible. Your info from the state may have clues.

Good luck.

If your adopted mother won't give you any information you may ask the state for your case number, county of adoption, and date of adoption.

You can go a little farther with that.

something else that has been mentioned is to look through newspaper archives from the big paper where your adoption was finalized. I am not sure but I think that a legal notice has to be placed concerning adoptions. I am not 100% on that but they do contain some specific information.

If you can find your last name at birth, you can contact the hospital where you were born in writing and request a copy of your medial records from your birth. Be sure to use your birth last name. If asked why it is different, tell them that you married. If I ever get my last name I will request that information and if they ask I will tell them that I lost the coin toss and took my wifes last name when I got married.

Best wishes.
