UPDATE
There was an envelope in my mailbox today -- from my half-sis!!! She sent some pictures of her/my mom and a current picture of herself and her family. She enclosed a short note explaining the pics and ended with the sentiment that maybe we can meet someday in the future.

I am so happy!

I am whole!

I am at peace!

I feel like I have been validated! This is what I had been hoping for.
Now I'll have to write her a nice thank-you note. Then after that, I probably won't hear from her again for some time. After all, it took her 9 whole months to send me the pictures! But I'm happy with what I have now -- at least she doesn't hate me. She closed her letter on a positive note. So I'm good.
Actually, my husband tells me that I look quite a bit like my bmom. The pictures aren't that great, so it's hard to tell. But there is a definite resemblance.
So my roller coaster ride has come to an end (for now anyway). I would like to thank everyone for the support and advice you've given me. I wish our bfamilies could be more receptive from the start and not put us through all this emotional trauma (unreturned phone calls, etc.) We adoptees are so vulnerable in our search for acceptance; we put our hearts our there and hope that we're not crushed. Thanks again for listening.
