Need help!
My brother and sister in law have adopted an 11 year old girl from China. She is a very sweet girl and has many good days but as of late her bad (or sad) days seem to be getting worse. In addition to inconsolible crying (wailing and screaming) and banging her head against the wall she has threatened to do herself harm. They are a lovely family with two younger children, one also adopted from China when she was only a year old. They are working so hard to make a nice home and family for this young girl but are at a loss as to what to do next. Obviously professional help is being sought but if anyone can share insights or similar experiences that could be helpful in the mean time we would appreciate the support.
Thank you. |

I can say only that it's going to take a lot of currage, understanding, and unconditional love for this child to adjust. Nobody ever said being a parent would be an easy task. Best of luck to them.
