I have found my b-mom, she denied contact. Found my birth grandparents and I am in contact with them. I have no clue as to who my b-dad is so I have given up.

The only contact information I was able to obtain was for my BAunt. I sent out a letter 2 days ago, so lets see if I get a reply....

I hope it is okay to check more then one, because two of the choices described my situation. I am in contact with bmom and bdad, and other bfamily members.

I checked two also. I am in contact with my bmom, my maternal grandparents, my maternal great aunt and uncle and have met my 1/2 sister twice and my aunt once.

I haven't started my search yet; I'm not even at the stage at which I have even decided whether or not to search. I've got my own issues to work through before I can even consider opening myself up to a search/reunion.

It is ok to check more than one, I checked two. I actually qualified for three, but I edited the poll to add the last option and it would not let me vote again.

I didn't really know which one to contact. I searched and found. Bdad was already dead. Bmom wanted contacted but after getting to know each other some I cut off contact -- long story. Bmom is now dead. I have contact with some bsiblings -- also adopted. And some of my extended bfamily refused contact with me because of their reltionship (or lack there of) with bmom.

The poll results would be useful to somehow have displayed all the time as part of this forum. I know when I first came here I had no idea where I was in comparison to other adoptees. I was surprised to discover I wasn't the only one who'd been denied contact, very naive of me I know. But that just illustrates how little understood adoption issues are. By looking at the Results Graph a person sees immediately that they have company in whatever group they fall into, and we don't go around assuming things about the secret little community we're a part of. Good idea for a poll Sniffles!

I have contact but then no contact....confusing enough? She found me but things got in the way..so we rarely talk.
