new to search process
I am 41. I was adopted as an infant, unsure of complete details. I also have an adopted sister whom has recently found her birth mother and family. While I am estatic for her, it has produced such an emptiness in me that I am now willing to begin taking action. I am going to search for my birth parents/mother/father/any one that is biologically related to me. The little information my adopted mother unwillingly gave me several years ago has led me down a dark dead end. Any suggestions on how to begin would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this. |

Anne, I see you were born in Kansas? You're one of the lucky adoptees as Kansas has open adoption records! By requesting your orginal birth certificate from the state vital records office, you'll finally have your birth mother's (and possibly birth father's) name and other information that will greatly assist you in your search.
