My house is a zoo. We have 1 dog, right now, 5 inside cats and about 7 outside ones that I still feed because I have a soft spot for cats.

I tend to be on the "don't LOVE animals" side. I mean, I have a cat, and I love her...but I am not one to bring home five hundred strays, I don't ever want a dog. I much rather have a rat. (which I do in one of my daycares...and boy I hope they fed Charlotte while I was away!!) I do not identify with animals, I think they just add to a family. Sorry I'm the odd ball here!

What part of Rudolph did you relate to? The not fitting in?! The search that we went on?? Wow...guess I never thought how an adoptee could relate to Rudolph!!! I find it fasinating what we relate to as children concerning our feelings with adoption. I was ADDICTED to the movie Annie as a kid. I would rewind the part in the beginning when she was singing the Maybe song. hmmmmmm has me thinking about a couple things.....

Oh, my goodness...this is soooo me. Animals have always been the one, constant source of love for me. My horses and my dogs have always been my best friends, my family, and my main source of joy, sort of my kindred spirits...well...except for my husband...lol...he's a pretty good guy too. lol

I'll admit it too...most of the time...I prefer animals to people.

I guess I'm too much of a talker...I NEED conversation, and animals don't talk back in a way that feeds my spirit! So I prefer people...but select people!!!

Hi Brock, funny about the Rudolph thing... My husband bought it for me the first xmas we were married 22 years ago. Yeah, I guess I remember in grade school the teacher reading the story about Rudolph and I can remember sort of rooting for him...
Perhaps he was labeled as an outsider and sort of shunned and not considered as having much to offer, yet in the story he winds up earning the respect from his peers, even though he was very different...
Hmmm...

Oh my god! This is me and was me all during my youth! I LOVE dogs, I LOVE pets. But my dogs and I were the BEST of friends. I hung out with them, took care of them, always worried and loved them SO much. I always felt close to them. People hurt, dogs love. I was almost killed by dogs when I was 1 1/2 years old, vicious attack. But I love them more than anything!

I always told people that dogs are better than humans any day! I'd rather spend my day chillin' with my Tippy, then hanging with some person.

Haha. This forum is something else. At every turn I am reading something that explains...me!

Heart

I love animals, especially dogs, my dog is my best friend, I'd rather spend time with him than most people!! I can't wait to come home and see him!! He makes me laugh, kisses me when I'm upset and will sit with me to watch TV!!! We snuggle under a blanket.
Growing up I was the same way, I always had a special connection with our dogs, going up in to the mountains with them for the day, I was so happy!
I think my dog has more sense than a lot of humans, I love, love, love him x x!!!

It applies to me, I've always been the one in the neighborhood known for rescuing small animals. I actually prefer cats to dogs, because they are NOT unconditional. My cat ONLY pays attention to people she wants to pay attention too--so when she wants to be with me I know it's because I've earned her trust/affection. Whereas our dog would gladly take attention from anyone/anything.

That is an interesting theory. I have always been "good" with all animals. If I was half the person my dog thought I was the world would be a better place.

I love my animals, they bring me the most joy, I will cry at the sight of a hurt animal, but I never shed a tear when adad died. Not that I want anyone to suffer, just did not need to cry.

I have given up on trusting humans, but my pets are the best in the world at making me feel better.

It must be why I am a vegetarian.
