born from a Rose
As many of you know, after forty years, I have been in reunion for two years, the youngest of nine, reunited with five siblings and my Mother, who passed on two weeks ago from leukemia. I had the privelege of being at her side for many weeks up to and leading to her taking her last breath. As I grieve, I am comforted by the many memories we shared together as Mother and daughter, and the legacy of her love. I am further comforted by the bond strenghthened between my brother and sisters and nieces and nephews during this time as we laughed and cried, and somehow endured...
One memory in particular I hold close; nearing her last days my Mother lay in a hospital bed provided by home care in my sisters home; I arrived after a long flight, I simply and naturally crawled in bed beside her, she smiled wearily and glanced my way, she said" are you having a nap with me?" I replied with tears in my eyes" Yes, Mom" then I touched her cheek and said "I love you Mom", she gathered all her strength, took her pointer finger, placed on my nose and said" I love you too, chicken." We suffered with her many days yet, she was anxious, and afraid, but we stayed with her day and night, and God finally called her home. Perhaps, I may share what is my experience having searched, found, reunited, and then loss once again. While I believe there are necessary losses, we must grieve first... Thankyou to all of you for your support on the forums as well as pms' I'm forever grateful for your human kindness and spirit. Rose |

Oh Rose, that was beautiful. I'm crying from that. I don't know what to say except I am so sincerely sorry for your loss. I don't think that you will lose contact with your bfamily now that your mom is gone. I know that was a fear of yours. Love will endure and the bond you have will stay forever in everyone's hearts.
Again, I'm sorry for your loss and I hope that the pain is lessened knowing you'll see your mom again.

Dear Rose,
May God wipe away your tears. How wonderful that you have these prescious memories as you grieve.

There is a sacredness in tears.
They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than 10,000 tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love. - Washington Irving in sympathy, heartbeat

Just a note to say Thankyou for all of your condolences, I'm grateful for the support. Slowly but surely each day is a little bit brighter, but I cry when I need to. Heartbeat, I found the quote you offered to be very meaningful, thankyou!
