Sniffles, you are so funny. That really tickled me. It's TOO TRUE. A son or daughter is a son or daughter.
If your parents don't introduce you as " my adopted child" and you don't introduce your parents as " my adopted parents", why should others do so? Never thought of that.

Too funny that this topic was brought up. This morning while drying my hair I was reading one of my "gossip" magazines (why do I waste the money?!), and there was a photo with an actor and his child. The child was labeled as the adopted child of the actor (long day can't remember who it was). Every time I read things like that I just want to scream It don't know why the media needs to point that out and make it seem like there is such a difference between bio and adopted kids! It really rattles my chains!

I guess you have a point Alli. I suppose I never thought that along with the labeling came awareness. And I definitely agree that with awareness comes understanding and tolerance and all of that. And I know as far as celebrities go alot of that has to do with publicity and I am glad they announce that they have adopted. Maybe I am looking at it in a more negative light than a positive and that could just come from my own issues. I still think they should announce that they've become parents through adoption and after that refer to that child as their child and not their "adopted" child.
