Thanks Rose. She is just the most kind hearted spirit, and has really been helpful. She has offered to take me to where my mother's ashes were spread, and I told her that I would really like that. It would bring some me some closure.

Wow, your story sounds just like mine.
Hi, I was struck by your story. I found out I was adopted at 36 (got a note from my bsister after my bmom died). I met my 2 bsisters soon after. One of them wanted nothing to do with me, but I thought the other and I were getting very close. Suddenly, last December, she stopped all contact with me without any reason given. It was so crushing. Since then, I have been getting closer to my baunt, but I feel my guard is perpetually up. I don't know if this relationship will last. I, too, have been hurt a lot and don't want to make myself vulnerable like that again. It's very common for adoptees to go through a "honeymoon period" only to find they have less in common with bfamily members than they thought.
Stay strong and know that there are many of us out there. M |
