If you are in reunion or hoping to be what are some of the things you daydream about doing with bparent or bsibling? For instance I recently visited and went on a picnic with a bsibling, we had so much fun. I remember I dreamed about combing my bmothers hair, and sure enough one time I was there and she wanted her hair set, I jumped at the chance. Shopping with my bsisters was another one. Still I'm waiting to go skating with my older bbrother. He once thought of being a professional skater. We have a huge pond, so I asked him one time do you think we'll ever skate together on it? He said confidently, yeah! Perhaps it's a feeling of wanting to recapture some of the childhood things missed, or simply a way of bonding! Any which way I so enjoy engaging in the everyday things like watching movies together, or in my bfamilys' case "The Price Is Right"!!!!!!! Oh My, it's all good!!!!!

I'm very close to one bsister. We have the same love for antiques. We both would just LOVE to go antiqueing together. Unfortunately, we live about 1200 miles from each other, but next time I'm there, we are hitting the antique shops. We'd also love to drive through Amish country together and look at quilts and such. Hopefully, we'll have the chance to do that too.

I have thought about this many time since I first talked to my b-grandparents and I would love just to sit with them and my b-mom with all of my a-mom's photo albums and share my memories with them.

I think it would be neat for my son to grow up knowing all his cousins and grandparents and aunts and uncles on my nfamily's side. Even though I missed knowing them as a child, I don't want him to. I would love to be closer to my half-brothers and do sis/bro everyday things.

I would love to go to a Cincinnati Reds baseball game with my Bson... turns out, he's as big of a fan as I am! He even went to school with one of the players and knows him well. I would also like to take my Grandaughter to an amusement park and ride the kiddie rides with her all day.
I would like for my Bson to get to know his half brother and sister...my daughter is only a few years older than his daughter. Would also like to experience Christmas with him someday, hopefully while our children are young enough to still think of it as "Magical". Tammi

Hi,
All of these responses are very moving. Thank you all for sharing your personal thoughts. I suppose I'd like to share with my bfamily the many things they've done over the years as a family. Are we ever too old to ride bikes together or have a game of catch? My bmom is dead now and I still don't know who my bdad is, but I've reunited with many other family members and even though I've spent time with them and observed them as a family unit, I still feel like an outsider. I hope that changes with time.

After reading many of your posts, I chuckled to myself! Looks like you gave me some great ideas! I know alot of you mentioned the holidays, I too have thought about that as I have two children. Perhaps even to have the opportunity to spend one Christmas together would create some beautiful memories. Something I've tried to focus on while moving through some of the loss and grief are the new memories I create with bfamily members and I'm discovering those new moments are pretty healing you know!
Call me whacky, but here's a few more, feel free to add to your list... Love doing the dishes together, Sharing tips on everything from personal hygiene products(shh!!) to cooking, Going to Big department store chains on Friday night shopping, Eating chips and dip, Morning coffee, Late night sandwiches, let me see... Your post brought a smile to my face, Wilted Rose. Thank you, I needed that today.
You know, when I picture spending time with my bsis, I always picture us riding somewhere together in a car - sometimes she is driving, sometimes I am driving - and we are just laughing and getting to know each other and having a great time - just the two of us with really no destination in mind. Just enjoying each other's company and reveling (doesn't seem like I spelled that right) in how much we are alike. She grew up with a full sis (my 1/2 sis) and 2 half sis's (also my 1/2 sis's) and it is just as amazing to her how close the two of us are as it is to me. It's really a great thing. Huggs to everyone, Raina |

I have another one. I love this thread too!
My momma lives near the beach, so I can't wait to walk down the beach holding her hand and watching the sunset. And watching movies and eating popcorn. |

I dream about fishing with one of my brothers, cuddling another's new puppy, hugging two who are having some hard times and getting to know a bit better the one who has had the most difficult time with finding out that a secret (me) had been kept.
I dream of shopping with one of my sisters and really getting to know her. I dream about holding one of my sisters so that I can cry with her because her best friend (her husband) has passed away. I dream of doing mischievious things with another sister because we laugh and giggle a lot with each other. Dreams can come true - can't they? |
