Exclamation Roll Call!

Okay - I'd like to take the opportunity to start a thread where the "regulars" (and newbies, too!) can introduce themselves. Let's get acquainted!

Juuuust in case you guys aren't familiar with who I am...I'm Nicole! I am a 21 (almost 22 - yikes!) adoptee from upstate NY. I am a junior in college pursuing a double-major in Adolescent Education w/ an English concentrate and English Writing Arts. I share an apartment in my college town with one of my friend's from high school and my beautiful (and spoiled) 10 month old Jack Russell Terrier, Lulu. I am very close with my parent's, who live a half-an-hour away from me. I am currently easing back into a relationship with my boyfriend of about two years, whom I love very much. I have been searching for biological family since I turned 18, and have basically hit a dead end. However, I try to stay optimistic & I am always researching and scouring the Internet for new search resources.

Okay - your turn!

Nicole

Yeah, I never really introduced myself here even though I've been here a month now. Anyway, I'm in my twenties. My real first name starts with J. Okay so this isn't really introducing myself completely.

I live in an over-priced one bedroom apartment in Hollywood, USA with my boyfriend of 6 years. Actually our 6 year anniversary was last friday. I guess next year we'll be legally married. I am an actress--If you watch The King Of Queens, I appeared on that show with Kevin James earlier this year (January), and it will re-run again in the summer. I do a lot of indie films that never get seen, and some plays. (My agent sucks, and I'm getting rid of him in a month). My boyfriend, who I consider more like my husband, is in school and almost done with his undergrad degree in Astrophysics--I'm so proud of him. He inspires me to work hard.

Originally, I am from the midwest. I have never searched for my birth family, but recently sent in for my non-identifying info. Now I wait to get that in the mail and I'll see what happens from there.

I love travelling the world (fav place is Australia), reading, movies (thank God for Netflix), and drinking wine while having good conversation with friends. Now I feel like I'm writing an ad for the singles section in the paper.

Well, that's me in a nutshell. Nice to chat with you all on occasion and thank everyone for this support!

Hello,

I am Carolyn. I am 40 years old and have 6 kids ranging in age from 19 to 2~three girls and three boys. The three oldest children are with my first husband who I married when I was 21 and he passed away when he was 35 and I was 33. I remarried an old friend from my past and we have three children together, Irish triplets, 4, 3, and 2!!!

I was adopted as an infant days old. I had a wonderful upbringing and have great parents. I have been in a very good reunion for a year now. I adore my bmom and feel very blessed to have both mom's in my life.

With so many kids, I am afraid my only past time currently is chasing them and cleaning house. I am from the midwest and have always been. I have a huge appreciation for literature and art. I love my family, they are the center of my world.

I don't seem to be the norm, I appreciate my adoption. I have no ill feelings of why I was placed, and see it as a positive thing for all parties involved. Doesn't mean it wasn't hard, especially for my bmom, but since being in reunion we all realize that, for us, things worked out the way the were suppose to.

I have loved the forums, especially for getting other bmom's perspective. It has given me a greater understanding for my bmom.

Carolyn

Hi
i'm Cherilynn.
I'm an adoptee from Iowa. Currently living in Tennessee. Mother of 2 boys, 1 husband, 1 cat and a 20 gallon fishtank that only has 2 fish in it.

I'm 38 and still on the teeter totter about searching.
This site has given me hope to pursue what looks to be a dead end. When I'm ready to give up, i come here and read and change my mind about stopping.

In the fall, i'm planning on going back to college. I have 3 math prereqs before i take the prereq i need for my degree. I'm wanting to be an ultrasound tech.

I love to read. My favorite author is Diana Gabaldon. I love her Outlander series! I also like Dean Koontz, Tami Hoag and some Stephen King

Yay!

Thanks for sharing ladies.

I'm addicted to MySpace, too - I can't help it! I also love The Sopranos, Dog the Bounty Hunter, and Big Love (a new HBO series, hilarious). I am a huge fan of chocolate, cous cous, sleeping late, and Yankee candles.

Have a good day everyone

Talking please to meet you

Well for starters i am a 24 year old adoptee from Ottawa,Ontario, Canada.

I am finishing my Masters degree in Canadian politics at the University of Ottawa and will be moving to Vancouver in a year from now to join my gf who will be leaving me in a few days to do her articling for a law firm in Vancouver

Anyway, other than being a policy and simpsons geek, i am big hockey fan and starting to enjoy Baseball more and more ( go BoSox)

I have a sister who is also adopted, but born in 1984, so i'm the big brother haha.
We're both proud to share our family's french-canadian heritage.

I'd write more, but i would feel like writing a resumé and i don't really feel like it

mamottawa - I love the quote in your signature.

I'm a Boston fan, too! (And being that I live in NY, I get a lot of grief for that, haha!)

Are you interested in searching for bio-family at all?

Hey nicole, thanks for the kuddos. And i love the Smallville series on TV. I like the whole adoption angle they played throughout the seasons.

Yeah i should have mentionned i am interested in finding my birthmom. I have contact information of her mother, but right now i'm not sure what to do. I want to make sure i respect everyone's privacy and don't come on as intrusive.

A Bahston LOL fan in N-Y... i admire your courage.

healingfeeling, its nice to have someone else who understands French..

Well where to start? I am the product of the sixties, 68 to be precise...Adopted when only a few months old in England. Adoptive family moved to Australia in early seventies and I grew up an Aussie...I madly returned to England searched and found Natural, umbilical, bio, birth, skin, blood and bones Mum when I was 23 and ran around Europe to try and get my head around stuff for many months....I live in Australia with my wife and 2 year old daughter and we are expecting again in a couple of months....I found , who I believe to be , my birth, bio, blood, balding, breathing father last year and have only had a couple of chats with him on the phone...long story in between, still manic and sill searching for self..p.s. terribly addictive to a number of vices, THANK GOD!..... ..oh and have found a good friend to poke fun at and sob/ bleed with on this forum...she knows who she is....

I'm Snuffie! I am a reunited adoptee = birth mom's side and still searching for a bfather I believe doesn't exist! (No, mine wasn't a miracle conception) But the man on my birth papers is a figment of the imagination I believe.
Howdy to everyone!

Hi, I'm Allison. I'm 26 year old half-adoptee. I've been in contact with bdad and bgrandma for almost a month now. What a roller coaster. Anyways, I'm married and have two kids that I stay at home with. I like to read, play the piano....I'm hopelessly addicted to tv and movies.

Great idea :)

I'm Karen, but my screen name is Baby Melissa because that is the name my birth parents gave me. They were 15 and 16 when I was born. I am 29 (gulp) and was found by one of my 1/2 sisters in December 2005. I coincidentally had been doing my own search to find them when out of the blue I got a call from a search agency (can give the name if anyone is interested) that found me. I met my birth parents for the first time on Feb 25th 2006 and it as THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. Since then I've been communicating with them often, and am going to see them again this weekend.
I live in the Boston area and am married to my college sweetheart. I want nothing more than to have a baby, so keep your fingers crossed.
I am also addicted to myspace and this forum. I think this is especially healing. Still searching for my own adoptee support group in my area, though. ugh!
Nice to meet all of you

Aww Melissa, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a baby hehe. How exciting that would be!

I think it is such a blessing that you are in reunion. What is your relationship with bio-family like? I'm curious.

Nicole
