Dear Cheryl,

I’ve often wondered about you and what was going on in your life when you were pregnant with me. Were you alone? Did you tell anyone? Were friends and family supportive or did they make you feel ashamed? Did my father know you were pregnant? Did he walk away or did you send him away?

I wonder about you now as well. What do you look like? Are you married? Do you have other children? Are you happy? Do you ever think about me?

Perhaps some day you will stumble across this website and find me; perhaps you already have. If you have found me and are afraid to contact me, it’s okay…I understand.

I just wanted you to know that I’m not angry or resentful about the adoption. I believe that you did what you felt what best at that time. I don’t know what the circumstances were surrounding our situation and I can’t judge you for the decision you made.

I would love to meet you some day and find out about the woman that gave me life. I have to warn you though…I spent most of my childhood pretending that you were Doris Day!

So, if you are out there and you find yourself reading this someday…I just wanted you to know that I’m okay!
