Talking I know her name!!!!!!!!

Guess what everyone! A wonderful angel helped me discover my birth mother's name. Her name is Shirley Atkins!!!!! I am searching for Shirley Atkins, isn't that WONDERFUL!!!! All these years I actually had her first name cause that was my name in the adoption agency. I wonder who gave me that name, her or someone at the agency? Birthmothers- How many of you actually named your child? My head is spinning!!! I am not sure what to do next. Any suggestions?
For now knowing her name is a dream come true!

Isn't it the coolest thing in the world to just hear a name!!!

I am a birthmom, and the first time I heard my bdaughter's name you would have thought that I won the lottery!!! It was just WONDERFUL!!!

As an answer to your question about naming my bdaughter.....I did name her, but I did not tell anyone. I felt it was not my right. SOOOOOO I named her, and carried that name in my heart all of these years. The name her aparents gave her is her name, but I can't help but recall the day I held her in the hospital and named her what I would have named her if I could have.

I hope this helps, and I wish you ALL of the luck in the world in your search!!! Many Blessings to YOU!!!

Staci

Thank you for your response, Staci. It really made me happy and yet as usual brought tears to my eyes.

My head is still spinning, so I am not thinking all that clearly. I did some research and found a woman with my birthmother's name who should be her age in Illinois. As a birthmother, and if any other birthmothers are reading this. Technically anyone can answer. Good grief here's my question. Would it be in poor taste to write to this woman?
I wonder what the chances are that she never married and actually stayed in the same area. My non id said she lived in the South. This is a South suburb in Illinois. I always wondered if they meant a South state or somewere south in Illinois.
Many blessings to you too.

Susan,

As a birthmother, I would love to get a letter, an email, a phone call, any communication from my birthdaughter.

I also meant to add, that I did name my birthdaughter. I wanted her to have an identity. Boy what I wouldn't give to hear what her name really is.

bmothers name

Hi, I am very new to this forum. I have just recently become interested in knowing all about me bmother. I have had her name for about 5 years now. Helen Bryant... My adad told me he waited till I was mature enough to take this info. I was 23 years old and married when he told me. It did hit me like a ton of bricks, and I searched all the H.Bryants in the Nashhville area. To no avail. I just recently had a son and wasnt sure if I sure pursue it again.
Thank you for listening.

sent a letter.

Hi Heather, so nice to hear back from you. Hope all is well with you. I just today got a reply to a Shirley Atkins I wrote to. My heart was pounding when I got home from work and saw an envelope in the mailbox with Shirley Atkins on the return address. Sad to say it wasn't my birthmother, but a very kind lady who wished me well and gave me some advice. Another man sent me many addresses for Shirley Atkins and I will send a letter to each of them too in hope that one of them may be her. Otherwise I am not sure what else I should do. CIs are too expensive. I will brainstorm and try to come up with some more ideas. Thank you all for all your kind words.
Susan
