Lightbulb Getting Creative!

Okay, when reading through some posts on here I found some that dealt with searching for adoptees through their birth certificates. I am trying to find my birth mother, can I do that my looking up her birth certificate?

If so, how do you go about obtaining one?

It seems she must have remarried, I found records of her when she was Teresa Renee Mowell, but since then she's disppeared. I've been searching for a long time. Any advice would be wonderful!

Is it possible to find someone through their driving record still?
(I have done this before to find my daughter's deadbeat father).

From what I understand you should be able to find out what state she's moved to, from the state you request the record from.

Not sure now.

(This info was retrieved from the book, You Too Can Find Anyone)

Just an idea. Good luck.

Question Nice to hear

It's nice to get a reply. I am not sure how you go about getting driving records or if you still can search for someone that way. Thanks for the support. I am crossing my fingers that this site will help!

JinZippy, I'm a new found birth mom. My daughter found me on 2-13-04. She went to alot of trouble to find me. She did it herself on the internet only. There is alot you can find out if you know where to go to get it. Go to, Ancestry.com and search for her last name in the state you last knew where she was. This may cost you money to do. If you know the year she was born search that year United States Federal Census. Again I don't know if she had to pay for each of these or not. My Family People Finder, was what she did next. She paid $40 to do a Comprehensive Background Check. If any of this helps let me know. Maybe I could get her to talk to you also on here. We are getting along good and she has just made contact with her Bdad. Keep me informed if you want more ideas or her help. Good luck. Chris

I'm Chrismh's bdaughter

And yup... I did a LOT on the internet. I have some favorite sites that helped me a lot and I would be more than willing to get you onto them.

What other info do you have? Do you have your non identifying info? If not... get it ASAP. I see you have her name. How about an age... or approximate age? Was that a maiden or married name? Do you know anything about her parents ages? (they might be on the US census that my bmom mentioned in her post). Also, if they died (don't we all) you might be able to find an obituary and they are FULL of great hints. Did you ever have a state? EVERY little piece of info is important and they all come into play along the way.

PM me... or email me... maybe I can at least guide you through some of the steps that helped me. I am certainly not a professional searcher so I don't know a lot of the tricks of the trade... but my expenses were only about $200 all together (and that got me both my bmom AND bdad who haven't had anything to do with one another for decades) and with every little piece of info you open more and more doors.

Getting the name is the tough part .... I never had one until this year... once I got that it was pretty easy.. frustrating, time consuming, overwhelming (forget about sleeping), exciting, and scary.... but possible.

Keep us posted.....

Good luck.
