i'm a step-child, wanting to annul step-parent adoption

I am looking for advice. I wish to have my adoption annulled and to have my birth certificate restored to it's original position, in Indiana. My mother married a man, when I was a small child, after she divorced my dad. The man she married began step-parent adoption proceedings, had a baby with my mother shortly afterwards, then divorced my mother. In the process of the divorce, he took his daughter that he had with my mother with him and placed her with his parents to raise and had me and my brother placed in the local childrens home in Anderson, Indiana. After the divorce was over and my brother and I were released from the children's home to go back home to our mother, my biological father came back into our lives and continued to be a constant parent figure in my and my brother's life. I buried my dad in 1995. My mother died a year before dad did. I finally after almost 30 years located the man that began the step-parent adoption process with my mother, for me and my brother. He is not, never will be or has ever been a parent to me or my brother. He said that he didn't have a problem with the annulment process because he never adopted us. He said that's why he never paid any child support to our mother for us, because we weren't his. Anyways, he also says that he doesn't have any problems with it if he doesn't have to pay for it...imagine that. I want and deserve my birthright name and wish for my birthright to be restored to me and my brother... PLEASE HELP>>>> Thank you, Renea.

Hi.
Do you know who your father is? From what I've heard on here is that you can't annulled and adoption. However, you can have someone else adopt you.
If you want more info. try looking at the responses other people have given me. I'm trying to have my bfather adopt me. (You can search for KittyKitten to see my posts).
I hope you are able to get your birthright.
Kitty

Thanks for writing. I will certainly share what I find out. The process may differ from state to state. I myself am looking at the process to take place in Indiana. Each state had it's own laws. Thanks again, Take care. Renea.
